Taho's coffee tables for café interiors are built with that understanding. The stone itself plays a role in the composition. Veining moves across the surface as a drawn line might move across paper, directing the eye and giving each piece its own visual rhythm. These decisions are made long before function enters the conversation. The object is resolved as a form first. Its purpose follows naturally from there.

Most hospitality furniture is fabricated from cut sections that are joined together, finished, and coated until the construction disappears beneath the surface. The process is efficient. It is also visible once you know where to look.

Our metal forms are cast, allowing the piece to emerge as a continuous body rather than an assembly of separate components. The weight moves through the object as one gesture. This process grows from a manufacturing heritage spanning more than three decades. Long before Taho existed as a furniture studio, our workshops were producing cast metal work for design houses, architectural projects, and international interiors. That knowledge remains embedded in how every piece is made today.

Design development, prototyping, casting, and finishing remain closely connected within the same production ecosystem. The benefit is visible in the final object. Proportion stays intact. Surface quality remains consistent. Decisions made at the drawing stage survive all the way through production.

The subtle irregularities that reveal a human hand was involved in the process. These qualities are difficult to manufacture on a large scale. They emerge through proximity.

We choose materials for the fifth year as much as the first.

Cast brass develops depth as it ages. The surface gradually responds to handling, light, and atmosphere, creating tonal shifts that make the metal feel increasingly settled within its surroundings. This evolution is expected. It forms part of the material's appeal.

Stone carries a different kind of character. Travertine, marble, and limestone are selected for variation in mineral composition, veining, and texture. Each slab arrives with distinctions that cannot be repeated, which means every table carries its own geological identity.

Living with natural materials also requires a degree of honesty. Brass will reveal fingerprints during its earliest months before settling into a more even patina. Travertine remains naturally porous and appreciates the simple courtesy of a coaster beneath acidic drinks. Marble rewards gentle cleaning and develops richness through use rather than constant intervention.

These are not delicate materials. They are materials that respond to life around them. Over time, they become increasingly specific to the spaces they inhabit.

The success of a coffee table is rarely determined by the table alone. Proportion decides everything.

As a general guide, a coffee table sits comfortably at approximately two-thirds the length of the seating arrangement around it. The surface should align closely with seat height, allowing guests to reach naturally without altering posture. Adequate clearance around the table keeps movement effortless, particularly within hospitality environments where circulation matters as much as seating.

In larger café settings, two smaller tables often create a more dynamic composition than a single oversized piece. They introduce flexibility while preserving visual balance across the room.

Styling benefits from restraint. One ceramic vessel, a stack of journals, or a single sculptural object usually contributes more than an elaborate arrangement. The table itself should remain visible. Material deserves space to be appreciated.

Natural light also changes the reading of a piece considerably. Brass develops warmth, stone reveals depth, and textured finishes become more expressive throughout the day. Placement should consider this relationship as carefully as floor plans and furniture layouts.
